Hi there Sleep Rover Fans!
I would love to answer the questions that were asked yesterday!
First of all – where are we located – and will we be moving the whole location? Location is super important to me – as is our current location. I wanted a place that was close to the airport and to a major highway. This new location is no different. We are less than 10 minutes from the airport (even closer) and we are on Stoney Trail. The location itself has no traffic lights to it – so the joys of not having to wait for a train, sit on Deerfoot traffic and wait at lights – will be a bonus for many. Although distance wise we are on the outskirts of the city – timewise – we will be shorter distance for many. An exact pinpoint without a location reveal – is we are a 3 minute drive east on Country Hills Blvd off of Stoney Trail in the NE. Yes – only minutes away from the Airport Tunnel, 10 minutes from Crossiron and a mere 20 minute drive to Auburn Bay or the other side, Tuscany!
For those that are not conveniently situated on Stoney Trail – we will also be introducing our first ever Sleep Rover Shuttle – which will comfortably shuttle 10 dogs per trip. Each dog will have their own kennel, comfy bed – with luxury and safety as key. We are not about jamming 10-15 dogs into the back of a pick up truck!! Similar to our love of having leather couches for our clients to sleep on, and luxury dog beds – the same will apply to our shuttle service. This will be an extra charge service – however will our price list changes – you might not even notice!
YES – we will be moving our entire operation here – for the space and convenience!
When are we moving? We are aiming to be moved in by Fall of 2014. Construction begins in June!
Why the move and will we have the same concept?
We had many reasons for the move:
- $$$ – as taxes, rent and wage increase – we are excited to announce that we will not be increasing our rates – and we have not – since we opened in 2009. To top it off – not only do we have the same rates as when we opened, we will be able to offer an even better product to you. We might even have a little surprise – such as a price decrease on some services!
We have amazing staff – and nothing compliments them more – than a facility to match.
We are excited to learn from our many poor decisions in the current place (such as TOO thick rubber flooring that is impossible to lift up, carpet foyer and feeding rooms, drywall separations), to have a higher quality facility that will sustain all the Pawrty Dogs at our new location. When we first started, our choices were limited in space – and we had to work with what a new business is always stuck with – but we made the best of it! Our size will not vary – as it is important for us to still maintain the personal touch we thrive on.

Our set up will be modern and well laid out and of course – still, open concept! From 3 rooms – we will be increasing our rooms at the 6 room mark. Two small dog rooms, one for super small dogs and one for the rambunctious small/medium dogs. Two rooms for the calmer large dogs – with one room being a sole seniors room – our soft spot – they deserve the best! Plus two large dog rooms – that if dogs are good – can be opened to be one large big dog room. Our most excited addition – will be that each room will have their own yard! No more loud let outs that you hear every morning and night – of us trying to rotate overnight dogs with daycare dogs and 3 different rooms into one room! Dogs DO NOT like to take turns – everyday they tell us – “WE WANT OUT NOW! WE DO NOT WAIT!” 🙂 So we are looking forward to this the most.
Each yard will all have access to a large offleash fenced park as well. We are excited to have ‘offleash’ days for our daycare and overnight clients – something different for the dogs and especially dogs that stay over a week! With being on an acreage – there is plenty of room to run and fresh air to breath! The cleanliness level will drastically increase with a cleaning station in each room – and the yards will not be of mud and gravel – but grass – and when affordable – all artificial grass! We will also have a specified spa room – with their own yard and an open style boutique – with well laid out products – not jammed around as we currently have set up. I have attached some of our inspiration photos below – our vision for our new facility! Please stay tuned for more information and thank you for your patience during this growth spurt – we promise to offer you an even better product to not be the biggest in the Calgary – but the best (or many have said “MORE BETTER” – because we apparently are the best *wink*)!
